About Sonja
Co-owner/Director of Care
Sonja is a Registered Nurse and is a Certified athletic trainer. Besides being a co-owner and having some administrative roles, Sonja loves to be a caregiver. Sonja graduated from the University of Wisconsin - Eau Claire in 2012 with a Bachelor's degree in Kinesiology and majored in Athletic Training. She continued her education in Eau Claire, WI at Chippewa Valley Technical College with a degree in Nursing that she completed in December 2015. Sonja has experience working in an assisted living as a certified nursing assistant, but found her passion when she worked with her mom doing private duty home care and was able to give personalized one-on-one care. She loves making each day a special for those she works with. When she is not spending time with her clients, Sonja enjoys coaching the Cheer and Stunt Team at UW-Stout, running and staying active, trying new foods, live music, sunshine, and being with her husband, family, and friends.
About Brett
Co-owner/Director of Business Affairs
Brett enjoys meeting clients and their families, but his primary responsibility for the business is handling administrative work. Brett graduated from the University of Wisconsin - Eau Claire in 2010 with a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration and majored in Management while also playing on the football team for the university. He then went on to get his Masters of Business Administration at UW-Eau Claire in 2012 while coaching football and interning with the university's athletic department. Shortly after graduating, Brett was hired on at UW-Stout as the External Relations and Promotions Coordinator with the athletic department. Brett is active in their local chamber of commerce by volunteering and as president of the Menomonie Young Professionals. He also plays football on an adult league in the summer, is on a recreational sand volleyball team that plays year round, and enjoys spending time with his wife, family, and friends.
About Lesa
Associate Director of Care
Lesa began working in the healthcare field in the late 1980’s after finishing her Nursing degree to become a Licensed Practical Nurse. She started working in home care, and eventually created her own in-home private care business, which she thoroughly enjoyed for 25 years. That is where she not only found her passion, but her love for caring for others. She feels she has been so fortunate to have been invited into so many different homes. Lesa then furthered her career by becoming an Emergency Medical Technician and enjoys working for North Memorial Ambulance Service. Her goals have never changed, "to never lose focus to why I am there." She has the philosophy that if you find something you love, you will never work a day in your life. Lesa also enjoys running, boating on the St. Croix River, but most of all spending time with her husband, friends, and family.
About Shelly
Shelly has been working in the healthcare field since 2005. After caring for her significant other who developed ALS, it sparked an interest in caring for people that has never subsided. Through that experience Shelly learned various ways to communicate with others and found out how innovative she can be. Since, Shelly has worked in home care settings and has taken formal training to further learn and develop her skills and keep current ‘with the times’. Her motto in life and in caring for others is to ‘treat others as you would want to be treated’. She feels that she learns so much for her clients and finds being in the home care setting very rewarding and she truly enjoys what she does. Outside of working, Shelly enjoys gardening, boating, being with family, traveling, and sewing.

About Carynn
Carynn has been working with Beyond Expectations Home Health Care since May 2015. She says she loves personalizing her duties as a caregiver to each of her clients. Currently, Carynn is a student in her final year at the University of Wisconsin - River Falls studying Education and Leadership. Carynn enjoys many activities aside from work and school including coaching her alumni high school dance team, fitness training, attending sporting events with her three brothers, and loves simply being with family and friends.

About Kim
Licensed Practical Nurse
Kim has worked in the healthcare field as a Licensed Practical Nurse for 32 years. She has experience in providing complex care to a variety of male and female patients ranging from children to the elderly population. Kim has experience in many different settings including a school setting with medically fragile child, teaching patients and staff the use of respiratory equipment in home care settings, as well as providing care in a health care center for geriatric patients. Along with being a team member at Beyond Expectations Home Health Care, Kim currently is employed at an outpatient clinic for the VA serving our veterans the quality of care they deserve. Kim enjoys heat yoga in her free time and spending time with her 3 adorable grandchildren.
About Izzy
Personal Care Specialist
Izzy is a full time student at the University of Minnesota - Twin Cities studying Nutrition and Sociology. On campus, she is a member of the Dean's Engaged Leadership program and spends time volunteering with various organizations. Izzy has been a certified nursing assistant (CNA) and Personal Care Assistant (PCA) and has found one-on-one care to best suite her passion of caring for others. Outside of school and work she lives an active and social lifestyle from instructing yoga to being apart of the University of Minnesota’s co-ed cheer team.
About Erica
Personal Care Specialist
Erica is a full time student in her final year at the University of Wisconsin – Madison studying Biochemistry. Erica is a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) and has experience working in an assisted living facility as well as in an audiology clinic. These patient care experiences allowed her to discover her passion for caring for people and sparked her interest in providing one-on-one care for people in their home. Erica finds one-on-one care to be very rewarding because she feels it allows her to interact with clients on a more personal level. In her near future, Erica aspires to attend physician assistant (PA) school to continue to further her career in healthcare, a field she is very passionate about. Outside of school and work, Erica enjoys hiking, camping, snowboarding, and spending time with friends and family.
About Denae
Personal Care Specialist
Denae grew up in the Anoka County area and is a graduate of Anoka High School. She has always loved making people feel good about themselves which is what lead her to pursue a career in Cosmetology. She decided that home care would be a wonderful opportunity for a different way that she could continue to make people feel good. Denae started with the team in October of 2016 and has been a great addition. She has experience as a personal assistant and nanny for several families. Denae says she is, "excited to be a part of the team." Outside of Beyond Expectations Home Health Care, she coaches gymnastics. In her free time, Denae serves at her church, loves to work out, go to concerts, and enjoys time with friends and family.
